This is how the Danish Red Cross supports refugees from Ukraine
Denmark has welcomed a large number of refugees due to the war in Ukraine. The Danish Red Cross works to provide all refugees with a safe, meaningful, and dignified stay in Denmark.
Across the country we stand ready to assist refugees in settling into their new community – whether it being for shorter and longer periods. Our services are available for all refugees.

- Language training and networking cafes
-
The Danish Red Cross provides language training for children as well as adults both online and physically in our cafés and meeting places across Denmark. Our volunteers practice Danish with refugees and can assist with homework associated with attending a language center or other education. The Danish Red Cross also runs ”networking cafes”, where you can meet other refugees and your children can play in a safe space. Please e-mail integration@rodekors.dk for information about where to find your closest language or networking cafe.
We provide online language training at sprogland.dk. You can book appointments with a voluntary language trainer from the Danish Red Cross and practice e.g. basic Danish, pronunciation of words or prepare for an upcoming language test. - Connect with a volunteer buddy or friendship family
-
We can match you with a volunteer buddy or friendship family, who can support you in various ways, such as finding a job, getting new relations where you live and understanding the Danish society. You can read more about the initiative here. If you are interested in being matched with a volunteer buddy or friendship family, please e-mail integration@rodekors.dk.
